So just what do you think of our pretty little Jessica?? She is a beautiful black and white parti colour, bred from 2 black/silvers in October 2008, she is half sister to our male Duke and is by a full black/silver sister to Pepper, she has Am.Ch Skylines Blue Spruce on both sides of her pedigree a dog rumoured to have had parti colours in some of his litters but obviously much denied by the show squad. Colours that were not normal show colours were often culled but the normal siblings bred from thus as a recessive gene these colours can manifest themselves again in future generations if 2 parents both carry the genes. We had an inclination her sire carried the colour gene as his sire had produced 2 partis in a litter in the 90's much to the shock of the bitch owner. It's taken a long time but we finally have what we have wanted for many years, a parti colour.

Because of the amount of inbreeding in the mini schnauzer breed it is only common sense to know that a breed can only go so far forward until it comes to a complete bottle neck of a gene pool and starts to unravel which means whatever was put in at the start of the breed will start to resurface as recessive genes can be carried and hidden for many many many generations.

Miniature Schnauzers used to come in many colours at the start, would you believe the first breed standard was for a very small dog of 10-12" maximum as well but over the years with show ring trends towards a bigger dog and more uniformity the height was put up to 13-14" and only certain colours can be shown, in the UK black/silver was not even recognised until the early 1990's.

Jessica is a very beautiful young lady, her first 'hairdo' as a pup had to be clipped due to her not liking being stripped, she is still clipped as she is just a family dog anyway, she has a very full abundant coat although cute it is hard work, she will be mated to Chewy at some stage. Jessica should breed parti colours. She is a lovely natured puppy and has good vocal chords!

She is KC registered and DNA profiled and DNA verified to her parents.
