so thus where the odd colouration has came from.
I find pedigrees fascinating & if you go back even further you can see back in 1889 different breeds were used to make up the schnauzer such as these in my own dogs family Alli-Goller (MinPinscher), Black & Tan, PZ294, & his son Kasperle Vo Stuggert, Red & Tan, PZ279, these dogs feature in the pedigree of Ger Ch. Seppel V Rheinstein.
Some say these dogs are so far back in her pedigree that its impossible to produce such a colouration but alas here is one who is an absolute throw back to the original colours which were in the Mini Schnauzers, i have before seen in the UK pure red puppies in litters bred from other peoples dogs, i have also seen litters of pied black/whites bred from top kennels in the UK, breeders try to deny these colours exsist in their lines today but as with any breeding & such a small gene pool you do & always will get throwbacks to the original stock. In the USA some breeders are also getting different coloured puppies in litters bred from 2 apparently breed standard colour schnauzers, these breeders are however working on keeping these colours in their line.
We do love Peppers temperament & her size she is small & lightweight, & she does breed her colour!
She is KC registered but because of her colour cannot be shown as its not a colour thats in the breed standard & she would be penalized on her coloration. I for one actually like to see this new or should i say 'old' colour as do many people who have seen her.
Pepper is now retired from our stud and living a very happy life with Duke and her daughter Pepe, she enjoys romping around the beach, long walks and snuggling on the settee with her new owners. She does not live far from us and is visited almost daily. She has setteled in as if shes always been there.
Pepper at 6 weeks.
Oh hello
